The Magic of Christmas The holiday season has finally arrived and it is with great delight we welcome and encourage you to experience the Magic of Christmas at First Choice! With an exquisite collection of ornaments, eclectic accents and decor, Christmas collectibles including Dept 56 North Pole and Dicken's Series, and much more we have a plethora of treasures ready to add sparkle and shine to your home. As well, Mrs. Claus' Workshop & Greenery is opening November 14th, 2009 offering fresh greenery and outdoor arrangements to adorn your front entrance and trees. We are eager to create custom live greenery and artificial arrangements, swags and mantle garlands that will add the finishing touch to your holiday home. However, if decorating is not your forte or if you need some assistance re-envisioning your Christmas decor, our in house designer, Cory Cherdarchuk can help breathe new life into your holiday displays and layouts with his Christmas Decorating Consultation. This year, First Choice, is a proud sponsor of both, the 3rd Annual Homes for Christmas Tour (in St. Albert) as well as the 25th Anniversary of The Festival of Trees. Cory k will be designing 3 homes on the 2009 Homes for Christmas Tour and his tree entitled "The Ice Princess" will be on display at the festival of trees from November 26-28, 2009. Mrs. Claus' Ornament Swap Every year you rummage through your holiday boxes and those forgotten misfit ornaments remain unseen at the bottom. Give those holiday ornaments a new lease-on-life and a loving home by joining us for our 1st annual Mrs. Claus' Ornament Swap. Celebrate the season opening of Mrs. Claus' Workshop and Greenery and find new ornaments to add to your holiday tree this season. How It Works ... 1. Dig through your Christmas decoration boxes and find 5 once-loved-yet-still-beautiful Christmas tree ornaments you are ready to part with. 2. Bring these 5 ornaments to Mrs. Claus' Ornament Swap, November 14th, 2009 and place them on Mrs. Claus' Ornament Tree. 3. Enjoy refreshments, holiday goodies as well as a few holiday decorating demos while you get a chance to eye what will soon be your new holiday ornaments. 4. Draw a number from our Christmas Hat and in numeric order select one new ornament from the tree. 5. Repeat 4 more times. 6. Wrap your newly received ornaments and take them home. Place on your Christmas tree and enjoy for years to come. Please carefully check all ornaments before bring them and make sure they are all in good condition with no damages. Mrs. Claus' Country Retreat Grab your best girlfriends and escape the hustle and bustle of the city on an unforgettable weekend in Edmonton's countryside. Stay the weekend (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) at the Empty Nest, an eclectic treasure trove bursting with the warmth of the Holiday season. A plethora of activities are planned including a Christmas movie night, lunch and tea sampling at Vintage Petals Tea House and tickets for the 2009 Homes for Christmas Tour in St. Albert showcasing 6 professionally decorated homes. As well, learn how to prepare a festive holiday meal all your friends and family will envy with a local personal chef and on Sunday morning enjoy a private tutorial at First Choice Tree Nursery and Garden Centre where you will create a stunning outdoor arrangement with Cory of Cory Christopher Designs. It's the perfect time to relax and rejuvenate before the upcoming holiday rush and take some time for you and your friends. A Very Cherdarchuk Christmas Many have wondered how we, the Cherdarchuk's and owners of First Choice celebrate the Christmas season. We are truly Christmas fanatics and it is our pleasure to share our love of Christmas with you! For the very first time and for 2 evenings only, Dec. 4 & 5, 2009, from 6 - 9 pm, we are opening our home and yard to our valued customers and friends, letting you enjoy the rich tapestry of holiday decor, accents, lights and inspirational ideas. Enjoy Christmas cider and holiday goodies as you truly become engulfed in the holiday spirit. Even Santa and Mrs. Claus and two of their reindeer (yes, REAL reindeer) will be taking some time out of their hectic schedule to visit. It is a fantastic opportunity to visit Santa's Outdoor Christmas Tree Forest and view our collection of Hort Couture Christmas Dresses. After you are done absorbing the holiday energy and ideas, pick some gorgeous boughs at Mrs. Claus' Workshop and Greenery and stop in at Santa's Treasures and find some beautiful holiday decor and accents prefect for making your home sparkle and shine. We ask everyone visiting A Very Cherdarchuk Christmas to make a donation to our silver collection, while touring our home & yard. As well, with the purchase of every silver metal snowflake at $6.00 each, 50% of the purchase cost will be donated directly to the Little Warriors.
